Nature Park “Daugavas Loki”
Nature Park “Daugavas Loki” was created to preserve the unique natural complexes, natural, cultural and historical values and little transformed landscapes of the ancient valley of the Daugava on the site of Naujene to Kraslava. The bends of the ancient valley of the Daugava are considered to be the oldest geological formations in Latvia. The Nature Park “Daugavas Loki” was recognized as the NATURA 2000 territory in 2004, but in 2011 this park was included in the Latvian National UNESCO World Heritage List.
Rothko Museum
Rothko Museum is a multifunctional complex of contemporary art, culture and education situated in the Arsenal building at Daugavpils Fortress. It is the only place in Eastern Europe where the original masterpieces of the famous painter and the founder of the abstract expressionism Mark Rothko can be seen.
Vecsaliena (Chervonka) Manor Castle
Vecsaliena (Chervonka) castle was built in 1870 in the Neogothic style and is located in a bend of the park, which was created in the 19th century. This picturesque building with a dynamic and complex composition of the volume is a real fairy-tale castle.
Slutiski Village and Old Believers’ Rural Courtyard
Slutiski Village is authentic inhabited village, where visitors can get acquainted with the unique culture and household of Old Believers in Latgale. Slutiski Village was included in a State protected cultural monument list in 2016.
Latgale Zoo
Here, in the artificially created jungles, visitors can see spotted pythons, spectacled caimans bathing in the sun, red koi carps swimming in the ponds, playful macaques and sugar gliders jumping in the lianas and other swimming, whistling, crawling, hopping and flying tropical creatures.

Daugavpils Regional Studies and Art Museum is one of the oldest museums in Latgale, founded in 1938. Located at 8 Rigas Street, in a magnificent building constructed in 1883.

The House of Rainis in Berkenele
The childhood of Latvian poet, translator, master of drama, public and political figure Jānis Rainis (1865 – 1929) was spent here, in Berkenele Manor. There is opportunity to see expositions “Rainis and Berkenele”, “Nursery”. Museum offers a wide range of workshops and the opportunity to host seminars.
Medical exhibition with an exposition of birth control items
There is a new permanent exposition devoted to the history of medicine in Daugavpils Fortress. Three halls present a great number of objects, photos and documents that tell us how people were treated in centuries past and gives a brief overview of Daugavpils medical institutions’ history. One of the halls is fully devoted to contraception.

Daugavpils Clay Art Centre
The centre offers the possibility to get acquainted with the cultural heritage of Latgale – ceramics and pottery traditions. This is the only place in Latvia where visitors can see and learn about the hardened Baltic raku ceramics which is being matured in fermented rye-flour liquid.
Big boulder of Nicgale
Big boulder of Nicgale is the biggest known boulder in Latvia. Length of the boulder is 10,5 m, width – 10,4 m, but height – 3,50 m.
Nature reserve “Pilskalnes Siguldiņa”
The nature reserve situated in a gorgeous valley that has been carved by melting glacier waters, has the territory of 59.3 hectares. The banks of the valley are thickly covered with broadleaved trees.
