Centre of Technics and Industrial Design “Engineering Arsenal”

Centre of Technics and Industrial Design «Engineering Arsenal» is the largest exhibition of motorised vehicles in the whole Latgale region. It is a unique exhibition space of retro technology and applied design, which is located in the historic 19th-century building of the Daugavpils Fortress.

Exhibition of Retro Cars “RetroGaraž-D”

Different automobile brands are represented in the exhibition – 22 “Moskvich”, 2 “Zhiguli”, “Volga” and “Mercedes” cars. This is probably the largest “Moskvich” collection in the Baltic States.

The promenade on Bruģu Street on the bank of the Daugava River

On the right bank of the Daugava River, in the vicinity of Gayok district the Bruģu Street promenade has been built.  It is aimed at giving the streets a new, functional look and meaning. After completion of the Bruģu Street promenade, Daugavpils city acquired a new, facilitated area for strolling and enjoying the splendour of nature.

Lielais Stropu Lake Promenade

There is a 3km long pedestrian pathway on the shore of Lielais Stropu Lake. The promenade connects the Central Beach and the “Stropu vilnis” Beach. It is a great place to go for a walk, breathe in the fresh air, and spend time actively.

Music Square in Esplanade Rest Park

Music Square in Esplanade Rest Park is a place for rest and walks in Daugavpils. The central theme of the new recreation and walking area is the sounds of music in an urban environment. There are various music instrument in the open air which allow to both hear and feel the music in its various forms. There are 10 different outdoor musical instruments – drums, xylophone, tube bells and other interesting objects.

“Taller” Restaurant and Night Club

The restaurant and night club “Taller” is located in Daugavpils city centre. European cuisine lovers are welcome there. A wide range of snacks, delicacies, fish and meat dishes, wine, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks can satisfy the most demanding visitors. The restaurant menu features European and Russian cuisine.

Salon Antique “Housevintage”

The salon offers to view and purchase historical furniture, dishes, clocks a.o. interior objects from the late 19th and early 20th century.

“IMBIR” CAFE

A cafe with a cosy atmosphere and delicious pastries. A wide range of fresh desserts, biscuits and cakes is available. Desserts and cakes can also be made to order.

“LIDADIS PARK” CAFE

A wide selection of food and drinks is available.
Party organisation is also available.
In summer, there is an outdoor terrace overlooking the park and a fountain.

SUMMER CAFE “BEREG”

A summer café on the riverside of the Daugava River. It has great views of the Daugava River. Delicious food and drinks.

Boat trips on Daugava River with a “Sikspārnis” boat

“SotKajak Daugavpils” offers boat trips along Daugava River with a “Sikspārnis” boat. During the trip, passengers can see the Unity Bridge, Daugavpils districts, Daugavpils Fortress and get to know the biological diversity of the river and its coasts.

Equestrian arena in Mežciems

Horseback riding allows you to enjoy the splendor of nature in different seasons. On horseback you can enjoy a completely different view of your surroundings and regain inner peace. The horse riding arena in Mežciems offers family holidays, riding lessons, horse camps and equestrian events, and picnic facilities. Photo shoots and individual horse riding are also possible.

Sightseeing tour in Daugavpils Fortress on electric bus

The creators of the Museum of the World War I “Pie Komendanta” offer sightseeing tours in Daugavpils Fortress on an electric bus. During the trip, guests and residents of the city will be introduced to the most interesting and significant objects of Daugavpils Fortress and their history.

The open-storage chamber for contemporary ceramics

The 7th bastion casemate of the Daugavpils Fortress is officially available in its new function – as an open-storage chamber for contemporary ceramics from the Rothko Museum collection. The new open-storage chamber displays over a hundred artworks by artists from 40 countries.

Art object “DAUGAVPILS”

An environmental object has been installed in Daugavpils near the place where Laucesa River enters Daugava River – large-format letters that form the inscription “DAUGAVPILS”.

Mini golf “Golfiņš”

A place for relaxation and fun, where you can play mini-golf in near darkness. The entertainment is suitable for the whole family – no previous knowledge or experience is required.

Cat Museum

The first Cat Museum in Daugavpils, where you can see a collection of interesting artworks and meet the cats that live there. The exhibition features more than 1 500 cat-related exhibits. There is also a cat café. On offer: guided visits to the museum, meeting real cats in the cat café, tea in the company of cats, a masterclass in making “kitty” biscuits.

Fortress promenade

The total length of the promenade is around 1 kilometre, it goes on the upper level of the protection dam around the fortress. The fortress promenade is a great place for leisurely walks, to view fortress fortifications on both banks of the River Daugava, as well as to enjoy sunsets and slow flow of the river.

Swamp Trail in Esplanade

The Swamp Trail is a unique tourist and nature exploration object. The Swamp Trail is a 1.5-kilometre-long trail with several viewing platforms and hides for bird and animal watching. The trail is located in the Esplanade Wetland next to the Latgale Zoo. You can explore the diverse life of the swamp’s inhabitants in two ways: by taking a leisurely stroll along the well-maintained trail, or by taking on the role of a field researcher and choosing an adventurous route.
