Central Beach of Lielais Stropu Lake

Central Beach offers a wide choice of leisure activities for everyone – a pedestrian route for walks, which is illuminated at night, a bicycle path for cyclists, an open area for sports activities with the outdoor exercise equipment, a free beach volleyball court and other. A unique lake pontoon construction is available for visitors of the beach. The construction consists of the lake promenade, the 25-meter outdoor swimming pool with 4 lanes, jumping tower and children’s swimming pool.

Stropi Active Rest and Sports Track

The active rest and sports track is located in the Daugavpils Stropi Forest. The length is approximately three kilometres (1.1 km – elevation, 2.8 km – plain).

“Daugavpils Tarzāns” Adventure Park

In Daugavpils, near Lielais Stropu Ezers lake, there is a  tourism attraction – adventure park “Daugavpils Tarzāns”.  Obstacle park is suitable for children as well as for adults for active leisure. It will be interesting for both children and adults, since the tracks are tailored to different interests. The park consists of 9 obstacle tracks with different degrees of difficulty. 

The promenade on Bruģu Street on the bank of the Daugava River

On the right bank of the Daugava River, in the vicinity of Gayok district the Bruģu Street promenade has been built.  It is aimed at giving the streets a new, functional look and meaning. After completion of the Bruģu Street promenade, Daugavpils city acquired a new, facilitated area for strolling and enjoying the splendour of nature.

Lielais Stropu Lake Promenade

There is a 3km long pedestrian pathway on the shore of Lielais Stropu Lake. The promenade connects the Central Beach and the “Stropu vilnis” Beach. It is a great place to go for a walk, breathe in the fresh air, and spend time actively.

Music Square in Esplanade Rest Park

Music Square in Esplanade Rest Park is a place for rest and walks in Daugavpils. The central theme of the new recreation and walking area is the sounds of music in an urban environment. There are various music instrument in the open air which allow to both hear and feel the music in its various forms. There are 10 different outdoor musical instruments – drums, xylophone, tube bells and other interesting objects.

Daugavpils Olympic Centre

Visitors of the centre can use 25 m swimming pool with 6 lanes, depth 1.35 m – 1.85 m and 12 m x 6 m small swimming pool, depth 0,95 m. For relaxation, the excellent solution is the spa zone which additionally offers the sauna, steam bath and massage baths to combine with a refreshing swim.

Esplanade Rest Park

Esplanade Rest Park is the first bike park in the Baltics covering an area of 4 hectares in the urban environment. This park includes a variety of areas – a skatepark, an asphalted cycling track, an adventure trail and a children’s area. The park is multifunctional and is adapted for 8 different vehicles – mtb, bmx, street, balance bike, skateboard, longboard, roller skates and scooter.

Lielais Stropu Lake

Lielais Stropu Lake is the largest water body in Daugavpils that attracts many holidaymakers during the summer season. Every year International Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) designates a Blue Flag Award for high environmental and quality standards to Central Beach of Lielais Stropu Lake.

“WATER LAND” Water Amusement Park

The “WATER LAND” Water Amusement Park is located in Rugeļu Reservoir. Rugeļu Reservoir is located just 4 km from the Daugavpils city centre and is a popular place for recreation.

“Wake It” Wakepark

“Wake It” Wakepark is located at Rugeļi Reservoir in Daugavpils and it is suitable for both professionals and beginners. The track features one kicker. There is an opportunity to rent SUP boards and easily glide across the surface of water or hold competitions for speed.

“Orange Bowling” Entertainment and Recreation Complex

Entertainment and leisure complex “Orange Bowling” invites visitors to enjoy modern bowling with 10 lanes and world famous brand “Brunswick” equipment. “Orange Bowling” welcomes guests to play air hockey, billiard and various non-gambling games.

Electric scooters for rent

E-scooter rental service is available for fans of the outdoor activities in Daugavpils. The scooter has a headlamp and backlight, so it is safe during the night time. Protective helmet and additional knee and elbow pads for children are available.

Kayak rental in Daugavpils

Those in favour of active leisure and nautical tourism are welcome to try SOT (sit-on-top) kayaks, equipment and various nautical tourism routes.

Outdoor tennis courts

Daugavpils Tennis Club offers 4 outdoor tennis courts and a rental of equipment. The tennis courts are located in a picturesque place – Stropi pine forest. There is a rental of tennis rackets and balls, as well as professional coach service is available.

Boat trips on Daugava River with a “Sikspārnis” boat

“SotKajak Daugavpils” offers boat trips along Daugava River with a “Sikspārnis” boat. During the trip, passengers can see the Unity Bridge, Daugavpils districts, Daugavpils Fortress and get to know the biological diversity of the river and its coasts.

Equestrian arena in Mežciems

“Children’s club of equestrian sports” in Daugavpils has existed for 16 years. For a year now, it has been led by 24-year-old Veronika Glukhovata – under her leadership the number of club visitors has grown, and Veronica has big plans for the future. On weekdays, there are fewer visitors – children go to school, so the greatest workload falls on weekends.
