Mausoleum of the Landowners Mols

The first Catholic Church was built in Viski thanks to Mols family in 1621. Mausoleum of the Mols is located in the village of Viski near lake Dotka at the place of the old (1715) wooden church.

Patmali Cemetery

13 graves of the Plater-Ziberg family have survived in the old Patmali cemetery in Liksna municipality.

Markova Mound and Cognitive Trail

In the surroundings of Markova Mound, there is a 1.6 km long Markova cognitive trail, where such objects as Markova Mound, Markova Cemetery, Putānu Streem, Putānu Streem Boulder are located.

Dinaburg Castle Trail

Appoximately 1 km long trail, that goes to ruins of the Dinaburg Castle and castle model. Trail offers a great opportunity to experience the knights’ environment – bridges, springs, steep slopes, narrow paths, a true medieval spirit and magnificent nature.

Ruins of the Dinaburg Castle and Castle Model

In 1275, instead of the Naujene mound, the castle of Dinaburg was built by the Livonian Orden Master Ernest von Racenburg. Nowadays only ruins of the castle remained, but there is a stone model of this castle on the mound. Nearby is located Dinaburg Nature Trail and recreation area “Knights glade”.

“Silene” Nature Park

The nature park ir situated near to the border of Belarus and includes 24 lakes, some of which are located in both countries. European pond turtle, fire-bellied toad, great crested newt and forest dormouse can be found in the marshes and lakes of the park. Black storks, black kites and lesser spotted eagles nest in park’s forests.
