The House of Traditions is a cultural space dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Here, visitors can explore Latvian folk traditions through hands‑on activities, workshops and classes. Traditional Latvian festivities are celebrated, and the venue hosts folk craft workshops, exhibitions, training sessions in folk musical instruments, as well as seminars on traditional festivals, games and dances. Dance evenings, conversations and discussions on safeguarding intangible cultural heritage also take place here. The House of Traditions additionally offers an introduction to Latvia’s culinary heritage.

A permanent exhibition of crafts and traditional ways of life is on display at the House of Traditions. It is dedicated to the world of the Latgalian farmstead — a place where everyday routines, work and family life unfolded throughout the seasons. The exhibition offers a contemporary perspective on ancient craft skills, allowing visitors to explore them through visual imagery, sound, hands‑on activities and interactive storytelling. At its center is an interactive installation that lets visitors choose which stories to follow — those about work in the farmstead, the rhythm of the seasons, or the craft skills that have shaped the lifestyle of Latgale from generation to generation.

At the Traditions House, various classes, workshops, and events are organised. More information about the activities can be found here. To participate in the events, a ticket is required — it can be purchased here.
