The Rothko Museum’s spring exhibition season runs from 20 February to 24 May 2026.
An interactive digital exhibition “Clay Pixels” at the Rothko Museum
The exhibition centres on five of Martinsons’s ceramic pieces, each rendered as a 3D digital model. Outlines of these models are printed on special sheets available in the exhibition space. Visitors are encouraged to colour and personalise the towers and crows that were central to Martinsons’s visual language, creating their own unique interpretation within the exhibition.

On April 18 from 10.00 to 14.00, a traditional flea market will take place in Daugavpils fortress, near to the Daugavpils Fortress Visitors Centre (Nikolaja iela 5).

On Saturday, April 18, from 10:00 to 16:00, the traditional Rīgas Street Market will take place in Daugavpils. Traders from Latvia, Lithuania, and other countries will offer a wide range of products — homemade bread and pastries, honey and beekeeping goods, herbal teas, spices, cheeses, sweets, and various sea buckthorn, hemp, and lavender products.

Folk Costume Parade “Wear Your Folk Costume in Honour of Latvia!”
On 4 May, the Day of the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia, Daugavpils will host the Folk Costume Parade “Wear Your Folk Costume in Honour of Latvia!” for the second time. The parade will start at 12:00 on Rīgas Street (from the Stacijas Street side) and proceed to Vienības Square, where it will conclude with a festive gathering.
Museum Night in Daugavpils
On Saturday, 23 May, Daugavpils will host the European Museum Night, an international event that has brought together museums across Europe every spring since 2005. On this night, various tourism and cultural sites in Daugavpils — museums, exhibitions, as well as sacred and cultural institutions — will open their doors to visitors. They will offer the opportunity not only to visit permanent exhibitions free of charge, but also to take part in special activities such as creative workshops, concerts, theatre performances, film screenings, and other events.
