In 2018, to mark the city’s anniversary, a new environmental art installation titled “I Love Daugavpils” was placed in the heart of the city, in the square beside the Roman Catholic Church of St. Peter in Chains. The illuminated heart with the inscription “Daugavpils” attracts attention both in daylight and after dark, becoming one of the city’s most beloved symbols.
This installation offers a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors alike to capture their love for Daugavpils — it is a place where heartfelt photos are taken, memories are created, and everyone can feel like a part of the city’s story.
