Pauls Krūmiņš International Orchestra Festival
The festival aims to preserve and develop orchestral music traditions in Daugavpils, to promote international cooperation with orchestras abroad, and to honour the name of Pauls Krūmiņš, a Latvian conductor and violinist, the founder and leader of the first Latgale Symphony Orchestra, who worked in Daugavpils.
Rīgas Street Market
On Saturday, November 21, from 10:00 to 16:00, the traditional Rīgas Street Market will take place in Daugavpils. Traders from Latvia, Lithuania, and other countries will offer a wide range of products — homemade bread and pastries, honey and beekeeping goods, herbal teas, spices, cheeses, sweets, and various sea buckthorn, hemp, and lavender products.
City’s Main Christmas Tree Lighting Event at Vienības Square
This event traditionally marks the opening of the winter festive season in the city and invites residents and guests of Daugavpils to share a beautiful, warm, and inspiring evening.
Winter Exhibition Season at the Rothko Museum
On Friday, 11 December, in a festive winter atmosphere filled with light and the anticipation of the holidays, the Rothko Museum will open the 2026 winter exhibition season. Visitors will be welcomed with presentations of new, impressive, and inspiring art projects that will mark a bright beginning to the cultural winter in Daugavpils.
Second Day of Christmas in Vienības Square
On 26 December, Vienības Square will glow with warmth and festive lights as residents and visitors gather to enjoy the traditional Second Day of Christmas concert.
New Year’s Run in Daugavpils
On 30 December at 18:00, the residents and guests of Daugavpils are invited to take part in the traditional “New Year’s Run”.
Welcoming the New Year 2027 in Daugavpils
On 31 December, Vienības Square will become the main New Year’s celebration spot in Daugavpils. Throughout the evening, the square will be filled with music, dancing, and joyful holiday spirit.
