In caring for the population of the large gull and other specially protected bird species, during the bird nesting season from March 1 to August 1, a part of the Esplanade Wetland trail that leads through the swamp will be closed to visitors!<\/p>\n
In the swampy area of the park, next to the Latgale Zoo, there is a Wetland Trail, which is about one and a half kilometres long. The trail is equipped with several observation platforms and shelters, allowing to observe birds and animals. It is a unique place in the Esplanade neighborhood of Daugavpils, where rare and protected animal and plant species can be found.<\/p>\n
City residents and visitors can still take walks along the Wetland Trail from the Esplanade Park side and visit the viewing platforms.<\/p>\n
During this period, city residents and visitors are invited to explore the variety of nature by visiting Latgale Zoo or using the virtual opportunities provided by the mobile app “Latgales Zoo-Mitr\u0101js,” which is available free of charge for Android devices in the Google Play app store.<\/p>\n
