Daugavpils welcomes to the 5th International Daugavpils Historical Re-enactment Festival “Dinaburg 1812” (VIDEO)

5th International Daugavpils Historical Re-enactment Festival “Dinaburg 1812”, which is dedicated to attack of the Napoleon’s Army on the Dinaburg Fortress in 1812, will be held in Daugavpils on July 20th to 21st, 2019.

The central event of the festival – a re-enactment of the historical battle, where different clubs from Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Russia, Belarus and Poland will take part. Re-enactment clubs’ parade, Empire-style Ball, musical concerts, craftsmen and home-made products’ markets will be arranged during the festival. Many other surprises are expected.

Saturday, July 20th
11am Flag-raising ceremony and the opening of Nicholas gate
a square near Nicholas gate
12pm Midday cannon shot – a rampart near Nicholas gate
12pm Parade of the clubs of historical reconstruction – from Alexander gate to the yard of the Mark Rothko Art Centre
1pm Performance of the “Pololo” street theatre – near the Mark Rothko Art Centre
2pm “Dance with a Horse” by K. Agapova – a moat near Nicholas gate
3pm Reconstruction of the battle at the Dinaburg Fortress

4pm A moment of silence. A word of gratitude to the clubs of historical reconstruction – a yard of the Mark Rothko Art Centre
5pm Performance of the “Pololo” street theatre – near the Mark Rothko Art Centre
5:30pm A masquerade ball in the Empire style – a yard of the Mark Rothko Art Centre
9pm A concert of the “Percival” folk music group (Poland) – a yard of the Mark Rothko Art Centre
10:30pm Fire Show by “Fire Show Studio” – the area of the 1st Coastal lunette

Sunday, July 21st
10am to 4pm Entertainment activities held by the clubs of historical reconstruction of different eras in the war camps
11am Flag-raising ceremony and the opening of Nicholas gate

12pm Parade of the clubs of historical reconstruction of different eras

1pm to 4pm 21st century in the Daugavpils Fortress – a yard of the Mark Rothko Art Centre Performance by “Skaz” ensemble (Pskov, Russia), “Rikši” post-folk music band, Cesvaine County Artists’ Group, “Laima” student dance ensemble of Daugavpils University

For both days, a craftsmen and home produce market, attractions for kids, a playground of old games, a flea market and cafés will be open at the Mihaila and Nikolaja Streets.
